I was wondering if these cardboard holders were any good. I have a number of wheat cents and some other coins that I would like to better protect rather than having them stored loose with a bunch of other coins. Also where is a good place to get them? Is there any brands that are better or does it matter? I saw some on Amazon that were fairly cheap.
Also I have some jars from stuff like salsa or pickles and I was wondering if it would be fine to clean them out and use them to store coins in.
Both are used on a regular basis for collecting. Flatten the staples when you use the 2x2 cardboard flips...you don't want a staple scratching another coin.
Cardboard flips are fine to use, especially for lower grade and common coins. They also pair nicely with pages you can buy for a D ring binder. They're also quite cheap. As far as jars, I think they'll be ok. Just ensure they are completely dry before putting coins in them. A drop of water can wreak havoc on some metals.
As in all the comments above, they are good holders to be used for a regular collector.. They also have 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 for smaller coins (25c and lower)rather than the 2 x 2's
