I have several coins with questions but I will do this the right way and post them in separate threads. I found this 1960-D DDO last year and forgot all about it. I need some pointers with it though please. As most know I'm not great at identifying errors so I dont have alot of experience in properly labelling them when I do get lucky. First off is it worth sending in to have slabbed or no since condition is not the greatest? I think I'm right on it being 1960-D DDO-001 RPM-100. I believe it is Stage D so would this not be the correct way to classify it? I know you guys get tired of just giving the right answer out so if you rather point me in the direction of some literature on this situation I will gladly do the research. Thanks for all advice and opinions
Wow. I've never seen one of these in the wild. May I ask where you found it? I'm not 100% sure how I would label it. I would probably just call it DDO-001. As far as I know, all the small/large DDO's have that RPM. Stage D looks correct to me too, based on the die chips on the 6. Variety vista has it listed as: SM/LG 1960-D RPM-100 & DDO-001 http://varietyvista.com/02b LC RPMs Vol 2/1960DRPM100.htm @paddyman98 @Rick Stachowski @Fred Weinberg @Seattlite86 @cpm9ball
Cool find. Yeah it's typically just called 1960 D/D Small Date over Large Date. Atleast that is what PCGS calls it.
Yes I actually found it while searching rolls last year. I just tossed it in a hard case and forgot about it because of the move. I actually just found quite a few others as well that might be good ones. I'll try and double check them before posting and getting too excited. Thanks for the comments.
