I am looking into buying some gold bars, the seller I am looking at is selling bars without assay cards at $12.00 per ounce cheaper than one ounce bars with assay cards. My question is, Is the assay card worth the extra money?

Who made the bars? The dealer is charging less than 1% of purchase price per ounce for an assay? I'd pay it. Especially if the maker isn't really well known. If you ever want to sell an off brand bar the assay card will move it faster and pay for itself as you'll get the highest going price due to guaranteed purity. Also, as gold skyrockets more people will be counterfeiting gold coins, bullions and bars.

I'd pay for the peace of mind and liquidity that an assay card brings under normal circumstances.

    Good luck.

The ones without assay are random but well known ones are pictured, the ones with cards are well known such as pamp suisse, credit suisse ..ect.

I would run the other way. Your situation is similar to a man running through a dynamite factory holding a lit match. Even if he survives, it was still a stupid idea.
