I vividly remember seeing that when I visited Rome with my son back in 2008! Visiting museums when I travel is also one of my -- and my son's -- favorite things to do.
Some recently purchased bellows cameras. Really like the little art deco cameras from the 30s & 40s. Some of my banks:
This a tiny prayer book w/ a silver cover and a nice engraving. In the background is a miniature working table radio.
WW1 certificate honoring some soldiers who didn't make it. "In honor of each one of the gallant American soldiers who has lived with us" At the bottom of the certificate - "To Hell with the Kaiser!"
[QUOTE="Aethelred...other hobbies...[/QUOTE] My other love is French military medals...which I’ve been collecting off and on for over twenty years. Anyway, my interest has been rekindled as of this year. I owe much of this rediscovery to a trip I took to Boston, MA, (500 miles away) which was the location of a safe deposit box containing most of my collection. Boston was where I grew up and I’d almost forgotten what I had stored away in that box. After I rounded up my collection I went shopping for a display case. I decided to use some wristwatch display cases which worked out perfectly. Most of these medals are from World War I and World War II. I’ve been intending to show these to our friend and brother collector, @Cucumbor
