They are currently in the sold listing on ebay for less than the mint issue price or just at the mint issue price.

Kind of expected though. There are plenty of speculators that gamed the system to get multiples of them hoping to cash in and when it's not reselling hot, they try to dump them to get their money liquid again for the next thing to be wrong about. Lol.

Seriously though, I bought a set also. I think they both are beautiful coins. I think if highly graded you could cash in better off them than a raw set. But as far as it goes don't expect to get rich off pretty much any coin, it's like getting hit by lightning.

Only buy new issues if you LIKE the coins and if you don't mind having it decline in value a bit.

The exception would be something that isn't sold at a big premium to the metal value and you buy during a depressed metal price period.

For quasi-investing or when you don't want to gamble on "newness", buy older stuff.

That's what I figured. And yes, I do like the coin!

That's all the matters, esp. when you buy only 1 of them instead of 10 or 20 hoping to make a killing.

Display it nicely and proudly ! :D

I was speculating on fetching this one and possibly more if possible. I share your enthusiasm on the release as well. Do you think this will go up relatively quickly given the 30,000 mintage say 5 or even 10 years out?

Mortgage the home and buy as many as you can.

Seriously, have you read any of the previous posts in this thread? This question is the #1 answered question already.

Speaking speculatively of course, I'd say this has the best chance of returning a profit of all mint offerings in a long time. I do not think for various reasons listed in this topic that it will be valued as highly as the 1995W but I wouldn't be surprised if it's worth double the purchase right out of the gate and rise up to 3x or 4x the puchase price before leveling off. I don't see it being worth a couple thousand like the 1995W or better though because it's just not offered the same way that coin was offered.

Main point I guess is doing your best to secure one of them. With the way the mint website works it's going to sell out quickly and it's going to crash A LOT. Get a plan for getting additional ones of course, but you gotta be on the ball just to get one I think. The dealers are gonna have armies trying to get as many as they can especially home shopping channels and the mail order websites. This is bar none the hottest offering in years in my opinion though.

I think the poster was merely asking a simple question. Perhaps he was trying to behave in the manner that is apparently required of the forum. Seriously, time for some more deviously crafted tricks as the instabans are getting ridiculous even for this place. Shame a person can't ask a serious question without being subjected to such instantaneous discrimination. Oh well. I've lost count. Have to use more stealthy techniques I suppose. Ban, ban, ban, erase and then edit. It's ridiculous. If you can't let it go then I suppose neither can I.
