Anyone know the best way to get crud off of this 2010 ASE? Or should I leave it alone? I am not sure what it is. FullSizeRender (11).jpg

Looks like you'd probably have to dip it to get that off. I'd leave it alone though since it's bullion.

Skid mark??? Seriously since it is bullion, this wouldn't affect the value very much, however I can see how it could bother you. The way I would deal with this would be 1) wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water and rinse them 2) place the coin in the sink close to the drain so that the running water touches the coin 3) deluge the coin with hot, running water for 30 sec - 1 minute 4) turn the water off, remove the coin and apply a few drops of EZest coin dip to the area of the discoloration 5) return to the running hot water 6) repeat these steps until you see improvement 7) rinse with distilled water and blot dry.

If that is from contact with a rubber band, it will never come off.
Someone tried on this Peace$. Dipped it soo long it is now mirror-like!

I didn't think dipping would give a "mirrored" appearance.

O yea, try it for about an hour!
But it won't get the rubber discoloration off.

Don't think it's from a rubber band. Not sure a rubber band would stay on in that location.

I packed some silver maple leafs in 2x2 flips stacked them and placed a rubber band around them. The top one looked like that about six months later. So I dipped it, it was just bullion right. It turned out looking like shizz and still had a rubber band mark on it so I marked it up as a cheap education and immediately undid the stacks of BU peace dollars that had rubber bands around. Yeah I got lucky.

No, I think he got fired from CT. Either that or he got called back from where ever he was on loan from.

This is an excellent coin to play with as it will always sell close to spot silver.

The coin is "shot" already as the whitish stains over the left side of the coin will not come off; however, professional conservators can remove this type of ED when it occurs as small spots.

The light brown stains at each end of the streaks should come off easily with dip. IMO, the dark part of the streaks will also come off but (unless you are very lucky) the surface under them is probably etched and will be gray after conservation. Use a small, thin paintbrush to apply the dip only to the streaks. I will PM you with more info as some here do not approve of dipping.

Dipping is perfectly acceptable when done correctly insider. You know that. I say this is bullion so the op can go ahead and pretend it's acetone for an overnight dip if he likes :p
