<p>[QUOTE="Lehigh96, post: 466657, member: 15309"]This is correct, TY Greg. The coin was sent to PCI and encapsulated with a designation that reads 100% white so that we can be certain that the coin had almost no toning when certified. The toning that has developed on the coin is a result of contact with the PCI insert. There are numerous examples of this toning occuring on ASE's. Here is one of several that an E-Bay seller is offering currently.</p><p><br /></p><p><a href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=3&campid=5335874456&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2FTarget-Rainbow-Toned-BU-1999-Silver-Eagle_W0QQitemZ130218459851QQihZ003QQcategoryZ39488QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=3&campid=5335874456&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2FTarget-Rainbow-Toned-BU-1999-Silver-Eagle_W0QQitemZ130218459851QQihZ003QQcategoryZ39488QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247" rel="nofollow">http://cgi.ebay.com/Target-Rainbow-Toned-BU-1999-Silver-Eagle_W0QQitemZ130218459851QQihZ003QQcategoryZ39488QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Here is a the photo of the coin in the OP in the PCI holder.</p><p><br /></p><p><img src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o59/ACPitBoss/Silver%20Eagles/1999ASE2.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></p><p><br /></p><p>The purpose of this thread was to show how extremely difficult it is to determine the nature of toning on a silver coin.
