    LOL! If you only knew!

I collect IKE's although I am more into Kennedy's and Washington's as both have some really dramatic Doubled Dies.

I USED to have a collection of First Strike™ SAE's but I found that I was merely chasing my tail and decided to part with every last one. Instead, for SAE's, I'm concentrating on slab Types of which there have been a whole bunch over the past 3 or 4 years!

Back in 2001 when these first appeared PCGS did come forward with the description of how the coins recovered from the vault were brought directly to Collectors Universe for slabbing and they were positive that the coins slabbed were from the Comex vaults. I am sure the 9/11 recovery coins are what they claim to be, coins recovered from the vaults.

As to why some have grades and some don't.

Originally the slabbing was a deal between the recoverers and Collectors Universe. Those coins are NOT graded and were not truly PCGS slabbed coins. They were slabbed by Collectors Universe using PCGS shells. If you look at the back of the slab there is no PCGS hologram but there is a CU logo and hologram. ALL of the Collectors Universe slabs contain 2001 dated eagles and part of the proceeds from the sale of the coins went to the victims fund. A few months later PCGS began slabbing the 9/11 recovery coins. These do have grades and the have the PVGS logo and hologram on the back. At first all of these were 2001 dated coins but then the other dated material, different denominations, world coins and even some gold, silver, and platinum bars were slabbed. None of the money from the sale of these items went to the victims fund.

Im going to have to put up a picture of mine. It is in a PCGS holder for sure, and the back of the label has the Hologrammed PCGS letter and another Hologram with some information on it that I cant remember off the top of my head. Either way i love the coin and its in my top 5 for sure
