    The very interesting Artificial Toning discussion on the Home page of CT provokes me to post this thread...

    Being a bottom-feeder World rag collector, I depend very much on obvious signs of ...circulation.:bookworm:

    If I'm going to spend three whole Yankee dollars on a note from Botswana, I don't want something that's been sitting in a printer's shop in Pretoria or London.:sour:

    However, there are modern counterfeits that may have 'artificial' wear (to be expected in an extremely rare note) ...
    [I did search artificial and counterfeit in CT 'paper money' but couldn't find the example I'd seen.]

    No way someone's going to deliberately "circulate" a common note. Right?:shifty:
