A little bit less expensive than the last few years, (only 1 over $100(1st coin)) but I still added some pretty good coins.. Antiochos VIII Tetradrachm from the Petrowicz Collection, Ex Naville X, 1925 Lot 1398 Larissa Drachm Tarentum Nomos Anonymous Follis with reversed reverse legends from recent hoard of provincial or imitative? Byzantine / Manuel I Trachy Leo III the Isaurian, with Constantine V Follis Sliced in half Isinda AE, Zeus / horseman Dynasts of Lycia Tetrobol Faustina Sestertius Commodus Sestertius + all together..
You did quite well if only the one coin cost over $100! I like the Larissa, Antiochos VIII, , and Dynasts of Lycia in no particular order. Good year for you.
Wow! You had a great year! I love the sestertii of Faustina and her son with the Tiber patina and the old collector tags!!! The Isinda Zeus/horseman is really neat, too.
Super year, @arnoldoe ! Tarentum and Larissa are great! Dolphin not too far from Tarentum... Lucania Paestum (Poseidoneia) 218-201 BCE AE Semuncia Poseidon-Dolphin (started cut for change) Craw 4-1
I'm partial to Leo-III, don't see half circles very often. Overall, great coins. Thanks for giving us a look.
Arnoldoe, The Tet of Antiochos VIII is an excellent example of the Hellenistic style & stands out among your group ! The provenance going back to 1925 is a strong plus for this coin .
Good selection! I like the first 3 the most, especially the Tarentum Nomos. I don't have any coins with dolphins and this needs to change. I also enjoyed the old tags from Faustina II and Commodus coins, those old tags and calligraphy sure add to the personalities of the coins.
