Are both these dimes true double dies? I'd really appreciate any feedback on these 3 coins. Thanks :)

You can really notice the doubling on the mint mark, the date and some on the IGWT on the 1995

Also double mint mark on this 1990 with noticeable doubled W & around the Trust in the IGWT.

Just thought I'd toss this one in too. It's weird, something's going on with the 5 in this 1951 Nickel:

The nickel looks like there is a die chip in the 5. The dime has no doubling... you are looking at dimes that have die deterioration.

Correct - DDD Die Deterioration Doubling
Nothing to do with a True Doubled Die

The correct terminology is Doubled Die, not double die.. big difference.

    Peace :angelic:

Thanks! How can u tell the difference? Like when I saw that W with on the 1990 it's so far separated that I figured that had to be one.

And thanks I've been learning a lot from YouTube and didn't recognize the Doubled past tense. Just never noticed when someone's speaking it. Still got a ways to go

Here is a pic I grabbed from the web to show a bad case of die deterioration. On dimes it acts much worse on the lettering and dates that are near the edge. It kind of pulls them apart, but it is not real doubling, like from a doubled die that has the image on the die actually 'doubled'. You also usually then see wacked out lines in the fields and near the rim. I think the die face is just really stressed at this point, as it is losing the ability to make sharp features on the planchets. Dimes can go pretty far in this respect without the die breaking.

This is not the worst I have seen.
