One is 1/2oz of gold at 22k, the other is 14k gold and contains 1/4 ozt. My mistake. I typed that in wrong.
I agree with you. After a few Bombay Sapphires that night (I rarely drink), I neglected to do the gravity test. It was just one of those nights.
You did well at spot. As far as numismatic value? In raw state they are bullion. If they would score well by slabbing you may gain some value.
they made a 22k coin that is 1/2oz agw and a 14k coin that is 1/4oz agw. don't really know what the OP has. the 22k 1/2oz coin is a smaller dia.
I have one of each. Yeah, like I said...those Bombay Sapphires I put away made my typing worse than it already is. But yes, for the record, I have one of each.
If the diameter is correct and the weight, then I'd assume its genuine. The only other factor then would be the thickness. If that's fine, no need for a deep scratch. As for gravity tests, who even does those? My dealer doesn't. I also can get a variety of world gold for spot, plus a little tax. A few are Uncs, many are over a hundred years old, etc. good deals
I am happy with them, they aren't by far the highlight of my collection, and I'm sure I'll trade out of them or sell them when something I really like comes around.
