I have an uncirculated roll of 2007 gold presidential coins john adams and james monroe, my question is the side scripture when facing the coin heads up is written both upright and upside down on the coins is that an error?
The edge lettering is added during a separate step, so it's random chance as to the orientation. It's not considered an error
How do you know they are "uncirculated"? Adams and Monroe Prez dollars were not rolled together by the Mint. Obviously, someone has searched them before mixing them together into one roll. ~ Chris
Some people go so far as to collect two of each presidential dollar so they have both positions of the edge lettering.
