Hello again everybody. This is a completely new topic I am bringing now. In order to preserve my ancient coins I am wondering whether I should buy an acid-free coin tray or acid-free Hartbarger Coin Holders self-adhesive? I prefer the last, but I am wondering: I am certainly not going to reopen the coinholders again once I have closed it. – It is very likely that the coins would be there for perhaps for 20-30-40-50 years. But I recently have read that a long time contact with that plastic could damage the coins, even if it is acid-free. Is that true? How about solidus or perhaps a silver coin, is it okay to come in contact with that plastic for a long time? Some coins are curve like a plate, like that one from chrsmat71, would they fit in a coinholders? I think I did read in a debate where some asserted that the glue in the self-adhesive coinholders would damage the coins and thus the coinholders using the staple to close it, is the best way. – other source claims it is best to use self-adhesive as it keep the air out completely. – What is true? I hope for answer so I can decide whether to order a coin tray or coin holders for my follies, and certainly also tremissis and solidus.
