are these 2 coins worth grading?

    Thanks for the info......
having seen slabbed coins, I will never collect high grade as the slabbing makes the coins very unappealing in my opinion. I am collecting US Morgan dollars and will collect lower grades just to be able to handle them.

Having a coin encapsulated (certified) by NGC or PCGS imparts some physical protection to the coin. However, the greater reasons for certification include increased liquidity, potentially increased value upon resale and a greater likelihood that your heirs will be protected against being fleeced. I have left written instructions with what to do with my collection and my business and my wife understands the concepts and ideas. Even with that, I cannot control a sudden death on my part (I am in my 40s) and I would rather have this collection (investment at a certain point) be a positive for my family instead of a liability.

I'm not certain I understand the question, but will give it a go. If you submit a coin under a tier such as Economy with its limit of $300 value per coin and the coin is actually something like a gold double eagle then PCGS will bump the coin up to a higher cost tier because they know it does not qualify for the Economy limit of $300 per coin. They will also charge you any added cost for the other tier. They do not do this often and will only do it in obvious cases.

The two coins you had certified did not need to go through as walkthroughs, which is the most expensive option offered. They were appropriate for a Regular submission at a much lower cost.

Yeah I know this now. Like I said I am fairly new to this and I looked the coins up in coin facts and saw that higher grades bring huge dollars. I do not know much about grading so I wanted to over estimate than under estimate.

I also sent in some gold St Gaudens at express level? Is that to high of a level too?
