I think that in an inflationary period, investing in any "thing"...tools, guns, coins, comicbooks, etc., is a good idea. The key is to not leave your money in the bank while the inflation quietly nibbles away at it. You *MUST* invest in something or your nest egg gets eaten away. Coins are an important part of my portfolio, but I don't think I'd go more than 15% of it.
