I paid $225 for this 1828 AU58BN. I was willing to pay book price for the coin and possibly would have entertained a little over book. When he said 225 I bought it and left the show. I was afraid he would chase me down and tell me he made a mistake. A couple weeks ago I bought the shield nickel in my avatar from him. The half cent came up again. He then showed me a toned half cent that had iridescent blues and greens with areas of the original red copper showing. Truly a magnificent coin for eye appeal. So much so I didn't even get a date. There was no way you could turn the coin the toning did not show. It wasn't for sale. I think half cents are undervalued. Really cool coins.
But PCGS are the GODS of grading, if they say it is no stems, then it is no stems. Ignore the stems you think you see and believe in the word of the Gods.
No, $200 for a PCGS certified VF20 is a fair price. And I don't think there's any price difference in the Stems vs. no stems.
