?? are all S mint Quarters proofs Made with silver?

    Just asking because i found a guy selling six lots of 4 quarters each out of proof sets.. And I don't Know much about quarters.. And he's not saying they are silver, years are in the 80's But I am not sure, there cheap !

    No not all "S" proofs are silver they make clad versions as well. The Silver proof sets are just that "silver proofs" and clad proofs are clad.

    '80s proof quarters are clad. Silver proofs ceased production in 1964 with the exception of the half dollar coin which was minted in 40% silver up to (and including) 1970. Silver proofs were offered again in sets beginning in 1992.

    What about the silver proof Ike dollars? those were made in the 70's...

    You're right Alex. I plumb forgot about the Ike (silver) proofs offered between '71-'76.

    The 71 to 74 silver Ike did not come in sets, they were stand alone coins. The 76-S silver proof Ike did come in a silver three piece Bicentennial proof set.
