The type is called a Burgpfennig, literally Castle Penny. One sees a temple with a cross and flanking towers behind a lower wall. The Cologne type is different, though: instead of the classical temple we see a larger and two smaller cupolas, and over it is a structure that reminds me of an archbishop&#039;s hat. </p><p>And it might be exactly that, too. But what do we see on the Cologne penny, is it a baptisterium?
