    Actually 9 - I didn't post the other Valentinian I because it hasn't arrived yet. These coins have kept me in a lot of reading this month.

    check out the roman silver cleaning tips, specifically coins very similar to this one on 'crusty romans' cleaning videos. Cannot say I agree with all the methods, but some work very well indeed. Its a question of conscience when the patination is replacedd, but make your own minds up.....

    Copy the URL of the video (rightclick on the video and select copy URL or just copy from the top of the page). Paste (ctl V) onto this page. Don't scrub unless you like scratches.

    Yep, thats the one doug. The foil rubbing if done carefully doesnt leave scratches, i tried it and checked under a microscope, but i am sure if overdone it could. I dont advise using powerful acids on your hob in the kitchen either!! poisonous gases can be released along with all the other hazards with food surfaces and chemicals etc etc etc etc
