Also, the smallest lunar detail an 8 inch telescope could resolve would be just over a kilometer in size. I am fascinated by the idea of seeing the Apollo 11 craft transiting the moon with a backyard telescope and I&#039;m sure that you saw something, could it have been a bug walking across the telescopes mirror or a near earth satellite which are often visible to the naked eye.
