Yes, there is a missing number. Apollo 9 was the first flight of the landing vehicle. But it spent 10 days in Earth orbit being tested for such things as docking with the command capsule.

I was simply referring to the lunar missions. Apollo 7 and Apollo 9 were both Earth orbital flights.

LOL...I'm a pretty modest collector myself. Just most of their recent stuff doesn't suit me. There are several modern mint products that I really like. I have a 1999-W George Washington $5 Gold Proof (my only modern gold commemorative) and it's one of my favorites. It just seems the designs the last several years have been uninspired...at least to me.

This may be weird, but one of the ways I make up my mind regarding which of their products I will spring for is how difficult it is to procure any particular item. I love to wait for high noon on the coin(s) release day, keeping one eye on the clock and the other on the laptop screen, with my finger perched like a hungry cat above the keyboard and ready to pounce at the appointed moment. :cat:

When I think back to the 60s and early 70s, the space flights provided a constant source of excitement. Nothing has replaced that for me, with the possible exception of the Chicago Cubs winning last year’s World Series.:woot:

IMHO both the 2017 Lion's Club and Boy's Town commemorative issues are not just on the bland side but verging on being downright goofy.

They were hard ones to really do much with so I give them a little slack, but so many others have been poorly done in my opinion. The Twain one looked like they just threw a bunch of stuff on it

I think the face of the man depicted on the Lion's Club silver dollar obverse reminded me too much of Mr. Magoo, and the reverse of the Boy's Town silver dollar and the obverse of the BT half dollar clad looked a lot like beginner's line drawings.

Yep. If it sells out before you can place your order, that's how you can tell it's one you want.

LMAO! Like I said on another thread . . . I wouldn't be a member of any club which would have me as a member.

Oh, but there's an easy solution to that...if it sells out before I get one, then I'm free to decide that I really didn't want it in the first place. :p

And you couldn't be a member of any club which wouldn't have you as a member, so you've got all the bases covered. :D
