20220929_07_24_11.png 20220929_07_23_58.png When I come across coins I always asked if I'm unsure. This cent isn't warped. Its a clean strike other than the slit you see. A sharp object causing this? Probably not the brightest Cent to post and asked If possible error not. But you never k ow. Thats why I'm asking. 20220929_070443.jpg 20220929_070523.jpg 20220929_07_08_38.png 20220929_07_17_08.png View attachment 1510634 20220929_07_06_52.png

Most likely PMD. Must have been a very sharp object.

Not seeing any evidence of displaced metal nor damage/flattening on the obverse opposite the defect. Plus the edge seems flush against the rim and not pushed out (displaced metal) as would be expected from a hit.

Do a closer inspection to look for signs of displaced (raised) metal along the edges of the defect. If it's flush with the field, then I believe it's a strike through

I’m afraid you have a nice same of PMD. Looks like a little displaced metal in certain places.

Nice updated pics. Not sure where others are seeing displaced metal but I sure don't see any. If it was from a hit that large, there should be significant displaced metal, not just a little in certain (where?) places. Plus, where is the corresponding damage and/or flattening on the obverse. Shouldn't a large hit like this leave some damage on the obverse?

No question to me that it's a strike through

Your welcome but it’s just my opinion which is based on photos. I may very well be mistaken. :)

Thats exactly what I was looking for.
I am thinking strike thru myself.

After looking again it could be a strike through but that’s an awful deep and sharp one.

Yes I do! I kept it just because I thought of the possibility and it was in really good condition.
