In honor of Shrews I will post my favorite Morgan from my collection. These first two pictures show the coin's color in hand. Same coin but these next two show the coin's surfaces and details. The lines in the fields are from die polish.
Happy Anniversary, Shrews. While I don’t have a photo of my Morgans on my iPhone, here is something totally different for you. An ancient Greek Athenian Owl tetradrachm. 440 B.C. Athena is the goddess of wisdom. Hope you like it.
I'm new to the forum, but think I'm gonna like it here. Posting my first graded Morgan in @Shrews1994 honor...
Happy anniversary! Rebecca, you’ve shown yourself to be a natural at this game. I’m posting a war nickel from my NGC registry set. This one — the 1943/42 overdate — was a real pill to run down.
Happy anniversary @Shrews1994 A coin of a strong and wise Roman woman, Julia Domna, to celebrate another strong and wise woman (you).
Here's a Morgan for you, Shrews, from my collection in honor of your contributions to this community!
I remember when I started over 30 years ago as a young collector. I started with Lincoln cents when you could occasionally still get wheaties back in the mid 80s. I remember my father getting a 2 cent and me trading something for it. But I first bought A 1817 15 stars large cent from a older gentleman I met who was a collector dealer for $5 I was hooked on early coins. He had a 1795 $1 that was his prize of his type set. I’d say on my memory was vg-f and original. I always wanted one and got this a few years ago. I haven’t been able to buy much the last couple years as life has interfered
Well I just like to thank all the members for posting in "Anything can happen Tuesday" thread...nearly 40 post in 24 hours...wow. I do believe Rebecca has earned the respect and friendship of the members here on CT. She certainly deserves it. I truly feel that the passion we have for this hobby needs to be passed on. We the members here have enjoyed collecting, and has become part of our lives, just as we the members here are like a family ,we need to teach ,and share our knowlege with all who ask. To other YN's be ye young ,old or somewhere inbetween....dare to ask...the questions that you want and need answered about this hobby. But most of all appreciate everything this hobby teaches us...history, georaphy, math, religion, politics, just to name a few....knowlege is power! Yours for the taking.. Thanks again...and who knows there maybe another "Anything can happen Tuesday....! " with you in the spot light.... As for me ugh....I'm in Dartmouth Ma.heading out on the road again this morning...
