Thanks to both CamaroDMD and GDJMSP for the offer to help out. I still can't quite figure it out, but I am working off a wireless connection without the originals and so things are slow. When I originally compared this with my other coins, i thought it might look close to MS62; the majority of the wear I can see is on the reverse with the breast feathers. Under a 10x loupe, the detail gets lost a little compared to a cleaner grade. But the primary fields on both sides look pretty clear. Anyway, it is the best surprise that I have found over the course of three years; in addition, I needed this coin in my basic Morgan set (hence the 96 designation; no 7/8 tail feather or overmint marks). It is already in an airtite, waiting for more friends as I find them. I would say too bad about the toning, although since it is a family piece, I enjoy the color that much more. Thanks again to all that assisted, and I will attempt to figure out the photo upload before I share future coins.
