Anyone pick up the $1 Coin and Currency Set?

Seems like every time I call the mint they come up with a new story. This time they said larger orders are being fulfilled in a different place so it is taking longer.

I only ordered 3 so they're feeding you a 'line'........

 

Maybe the ones that ordered more than 5 are on hold to see how sales go or to adjust them down.

 

But I only ordered 1 so I don't think that's it

 

Well, all I can say is, it's the mint, what do you expect? Look at how they screwed up the rollout of this set.

 

Don't want to rub it in, but my order of 5 sets placed at around 4pm yesterday just posted as shipped.

If I had a previous order, I'd call the mint to make sure there's not a problem with the order.

 

It sounds like EVERY order on the 4th has not shipped, and all from yesterday has. So yes, I'd say there us a problem.

 

Dang! I kick myself for not paying attention when these first rolled out. A 100 sets on the aftermarket would have been sweet. 500 sets even sweeter.

Of the 10 I purchased. I put 9 up on eBay at a modest price. They were sold within hours of listing them even though there were plenty out there and the bubble was deflating.

Now, with these new ordering limits imposed, I could only get more if I shuffled some stuff around but, I'm just not going to do that.

I really hope that folks learn to appreciate this particular coin as it has potential in a few years. Some very interesting potential.

Even with a mintage of 50,000, it is still a unique coin for the series and undoubtedly the KEY for the entire series with the exception of that Cheerios Dollar. But then, that's considered a pattern coin so, who knows.

 

Contacted the mint & asked why other orders were going out first. Even though I ordered before they did. Initially I got the stock answer that my order was on hold because they were out of stock. After I repeated the issue, of later orders going out before mines, the rep said she had asked the "credit team" to remove the hold on my order. We'll see what happens!!

 

Dang it, 19Lyds...you talked me into buying another 3 to get to the limit. Now I'm gonna be a Flipper. (Actually, I've done that before using the "real world vs ebay split" to lower MY cost on coins.)

I ordered mine 10 last night and they have already shipped.

 

Just got my 5, and my other mint order came in yesterday. Crap, could have saved shipping but still am glad to have 5 of them.

 

Wish I had one in hand for evaluation. For those that do:

1. It looks like most of the devises on the obverse have a polished appearance. However, Sacagawea’s garment appears to be frosted, except for the sleeve, which appears to have areas of polish. Is that accurate?

2. On the reverse, it appears the NA woman’s dress is polished, except for stripes of frost below the waist. Is that accurate?

 

I ordered 35 sets originally. Then 35 more when they reopened sales the 1st time. Got them all. Just got email saying due to new order limits I must return all but 5 sets. Is this for real?

Anywho, I ordered 5 sets each on 2 orders Dec 4th....added a piggy back Kennedy 50th anniversary set on each. Get that free shipping. The Kennedy sets have shipped & received. Dollars sets still on hold. Three nights, three conversations & still no absolute garuntee my10 sets would ship.
So, following the lead of SO Many scum flippers, I called friends & family & have 100 sets backordered thru them.
Of course, you won't see me flipping any of them. Just tuck them away and be glad I have them & some doush money hungry dink doesn't.
