I run a teller drawer almost every day and go through all CWR rolls that come in except cents. I only go through those when i bag them up for shipment and i can dump them out without rerolling them. Extremely rare to find any silver. Best luck is dimes, but that's only a handful a year at best. I spend more time on the nickels since that is what I enjoy and have the best luck finding pre-1960. I have about $85 face value of them so far. I have ordered boxes of halves just for me to go through and it's a waste of time. I go through quarters, mainly to find the newest ATB P&D to fill my book for my son. Maybe only found 3-4 silver quarters in several years. Someone deposited $200 in Ikes recently but someone bought them all. I look at all SBA's for the 1979 near date variety. Find maybe 1 a year of those.

For those out there that swear Loomis pulls silver before wrapping, I don't believe it. If they did, then no silver should be found in BWR's. There are, just not much.

Moral of the story, there isn't much out there unless you are looking for varieties or things not easily noticeable like silver. I don't know of any other tellers who search coins so there is stuff out there. I know of a teller at a different Bank that sets the silver coins in the bottom of her tray to hold in to, but sold them to me at face.

Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
