anyone know what these marks on this 1964 kennedy are? damage or error?

    terrible pictures taken with a cell phone. just curious what these marks are. there were two marks on obverse and one on reverse.

    They appear to be "reed marks" from the damaged coin being struck at an angle by the reeded edge of another coin striking it falling into the bin or bag.

    Beat me to it, but I agree; this is pretty common on reeded coins when the edge of one impacts the surface of another.

    Thanks guys. That was my guess as it looked like it might match up with an edge of a coin

    These reeding marks are also known as milling marks.
