Been going through boxes of coins from my father in law. These were mixed in with everything from Morgan Dollars to Canadian cents and car wash tokens... so I have no idea. They weigh 6.02 g and 6.08 g 20220809_141845.jpg

I would say copper punch outs or slugs.

IDK man, they are interesting. I don't see any flanges which are always present in punch outs. Could be a slug though, or a cut hole remainder, (maybe that is what @Pickin and Grinin is saying and I took "punch out" to mean from metal boxes).

At those weights they aren't any type of US blanks and it would be extremely difficult to find a foreign match unless you want to spend days (weeks?) or more going through numista or a Krause catalog searching for a weight and composition match. (Based on the color, it might even be brass)

    Chalk it up to slugs

They look like a copper slug from an electrical box but one things for sure, it has nothing to do with coins.

You give us the weight, but failed to indicate their diameter, or at least photos with a comparative next to it, like a cent.

    They're 'slugs'.

Not any blank or planchet for any coin, US or foreign.

I don't know but they sure remind me of one of my favorites.

Here is a page I am adding for the 3rd edition of my book. I don't see a "flange," but they don't always have them when punched from electrical boxes.
