I don't know if you smoke or ever have but everyone who does smoke should know that regular name brand smokes at Grand Central cost $16.87 for ONE (1) pack. I trooped it down to Lexington where I paid $13 change. Good Christ. (not the coin I got at the show) The coins I got at the show I am unsure of the attribution and might not be appropriate for this board. Too modern maybe.
Thought about it but it wouldn't have been heard over the screaming fans. During Richard Deyell's presentation on the Electrum Dinars we were passing the subject coin.
I'm going to expand the paper and upload it to academia.edu. If someone wants an overview of Nabataean numismatics, my website is too technical. But we were under a tight time constraint at the ONS meeting. I had to omit a number of very important themes to stay within 20 minutes, and the paper comes off as perfunctory. I'm not sure when I'm going to have the time to rewrite it - probably a summer project.
Coincidentally, I have been reading the July 11 1971 NY Times on-line (yes, You read that correctly) and as I was going through the adverts I saw this. I had to copy and paste in bits, so it may not line up perfectly. Enjoy.
I don't know if you can even enter the city with only $5? How much is the PATH now? Maybe if you swam from Hoboken.
The Lincoln tunnel toll is $15 going in, but you don't have to pay going out. Along that path, you will eventually have to pay Jersey Turnpike tolls. My total tolls to and from PA (which included the Penna Turnpike) were $57.
It costs me about 50 Euros round trip to go from where I'm at to the next base over in a taxi...it's like 5 miles one way!
Getting around is never cheap, but when I do start to feel any resentment about it, all I have to do is look at my Amish neighbors and be grateful that I don't have to stable a horse that takes forever to get me where I'm going.
Would love to go to a show and see all you Ancient lovers, looking good Big John. at my last club meeting i bought some old magazines, one was a Sear's catalog that sold coins in it. This wasn't that long ago..around 1999 to 2000, it looks alot like the coin and currency Wholesaler magazine on the in side if any of you get that magazine.
