Yea I was really taken back by the blonde dreds and face tats. Yea @4to2centBC is just one real wild cat.
Hey Ardy => I will try my best to stop-by your CNG table ... ummm, I will be totally hammered, dressed in drag and calling myself TIF-Noob!! ... jokes ... Yah, I'm quite jealous that you dudes are actually seeing ancient coins "live" in their natural auction-habitat!! (sadly, I only get to see them via electronic-auction ... man, it's kinda like looking through the window at everybody else having a good time!!)
Yeah I'm so jelly of these guys who go out on coin safaris. I get to NYC every couple of years, I'll have to put a coin auction on my itinerary.
Ha! A 4to2 is clearly a man of fine taste and inner design! I would have kept it, but I happened across this one...so off to Triton the Martini coin had to go to make room for the new model. I'm hoping to find where this old collection coin came from when I'm at the ANS next week.
I am continually lobbying to move the Triton auction to the non-existent Maui International Numismatic Convention (MINC). No luck yet.
Argh, I'm still awaiting approval for online bidding via TheSaleroom even though I have bid in a previous Triton via Saleroom I do have an agent bidding for me at the venue but I still want to have the option to bid live online.
Looks like Herb is still calling lots. Good luck everyone! One of the 2 coins I wanted is already beyond my budgeted bid based on internet bidding. I have a feeling the auction is going to be a bust for me this year. There's always the bourse on Thursday. And yes, Ardatirion, I'll be by the CNG table to say hello though I know you saw me incognito in San Fran!
Just grabbed lot 109. The photo did not do it justice and I will have to reshoot it. At least I have one in the bag.
Only one winning bid for me so far. Some have been reasonable; some very strong. At least there isn't anything too irrational like in the Sheik years!
So far were going at exactly 100 lots/hour. That's a good rate. Let's hope it keeps up through the Adams!
Apparently not if internet electrum bidders have anything to say about it! Herb has only mildly chastised them so far, but there are many lots yet to go...
