Anybody hear of the national coin grading service? I bought this Morgan dollar graded MS 65 but I cannot seem to look up the number

They pop up every once in a while. Treat it as raw and be (very) skeptical of the assigned grade. Just my opinion.

Basement slabber, I assume. The morgan looks cleaned.
Return it if you paid anywhere close to 65 money for it.

    From what can be seen, I think it might barely make AU50 . . . . .

Better photos, front and back would be helpful.

NCGS is a bogus grading service used for "As seen on TV" coins. You have a cleaned Morgan at best. Only grading services used as standards are PCGS, NGC, ICG (Sometimes) and ANACS (Sometimes)

I can tell you for a fact that that coin is not in MS; details maybe but it has been improperly cleaned. NCGS is a knockoff grading service.

I've run across a few slabbed as NCGS and understand there was a lawsuit at one time as the sellers were trying to "trick" novice buyers into believing they were PCGS graded coins. Not sure how that worked out, but as mentioned, treat it as a raw coin and price it as such. If you feel you paid too much, return it for a refund.

    Welcome to CT BTW.

Looks like a child graded that in their basement. Welcome to CT. And I mean no offense to children.
