I admit it, I am just not good with messing with coins. Don't have the time, patience, ability, etc. However, I have a few LRBs that are nice coins, (Ostia mint mainly in VF-XF) that has surface BD I wish removed. Anyone do this as a service to collectors, (for pay of course)?
Not right now. Its a few, but the one I am most concerned about is just a light layering of it that must have come from another during shipment. I simply suck at doing such tasks.
If you don't get any offers and want to try, you can always soak in water a couple of days to loosen the powder, brush with a tooth brush and dry in an over at the low setting. No harm if no benefit.
Maybe the only benefit from living in a desert is that there is little such corrosion, but when it comes I have used a solution of sodium sesquicarbonate. see https://www.collector-antiquities.c...estoring-and-conservation/bronze-disease.html You must remove all attached moisture or it will come back worse. If its not a high value coin, don't waste the time and money. IMO, Jim
Bronze disease on coins is worst than measles in the early sixties. So easy to get it and difficult to eradicate it.
