Yes, but it didn't require a denomination, either. None of these mint-made bullion rounds--from ASEs to this latest boonswaggle do.
Depends on price, design(rendering and the real image is different), got to have it, and cash on hand.
Simple reason, they can sell a lot of these to coin collectors and even if they are gold bugs most coin collectors have little interest in undenominated gold bullion rounds/medals. They did undenominated bullion medallions from 1980 to 1984 and sold them directly to the publce at just slightly over spot. Sales were pathetic at the same time sales of Kruggerrands were going up up up. Believe me they will sell a lot more of these with a denomination than they would without one.
Too many stuff coming out from the Mint. You have to be rich to buy everything. Not interested. Need to stay focus on collecting and not trying to make money from it.
I see, on the obverse, "JK" over the D in GOD. Did the people at the mint finally realize all these made-to-collect bullion are a bridge too far and decided to add: "Just Kidding" guys?! I won't be getting one but can agree with those saying: " ...ladies from the 1960's playing Roman dress up... " not necessarily a bad thing
