Anyone get the 2021 ASE Reverse Proof set in the Mail yet?

Yeah but I’m not selling my CC or O since I need it for my own set.

Oh do people really buy COAs? I always assumed if it was in a PCGS slab there was no point in having a COA since PCGS guarantees authenticity and grade.

If you did the COA you’d sell it as a set. There are issues where that does get a premium generally it’s more for how the set was issued or the hand signed sets or the numbered ones with a really low number. I don’t think it’ll do much if anything on these but it can.

It’s not really an authentication issue or anything like that people just like it when it’s something more special for lack of a better term. It’s just something to keep an eye on before submitting but likely won’t matter on those

Ah I see. I’ll probably just have the coins graded and not the COA since they aren’t numbered or hand signed. It’ll save some money on grading fees.

When I sell the spares I will ask the buyer if they want me to mail the box & COA with the coins.

Thanks for letting me know :)

I finally got mine in the mail yesterday. My question is how the hell am I supposed to get the First Release/Early Release label when the damn mint took almost the entire month to the the coins to me?

I sent my submission to NGC today, but in order to qualify, it has to be received by next Wednesday, 10/13/2021. I really don't see that happening.

I believe you can still get First Strike/Early Release as long as you don’t take it out of the brown sealed box it shipped in from the US Mint. You can cross out your name & address though just don’t open it up and submit it.

You have to send it in just like this:

Too late, how could I have known that?

You wouldn’t unless you checked online. But if you already opened it up you could always try sending it in via First Class shipping. It has 1-3 days guaranteed delivery time and it’s cheaper than Overnight or Next Day shipping.

It would probably cost you about $20 or so.

If you shipped it out tomorrow it would be guaranteed to get to the TPG by the 11th or earlier.

I already shipped it today. It went in with 45 other coins, sent priority registered mail. It doesn’t matter that I sent it Priority Mail, registered mail packages move at their own speed. And I’m not mailing anything worth more than $5K anything other than registered mail.

My complaint is, why don’t these dumb ass TPGs simply require the shipment to be post marked before the deadline like everything else in the civilized world.

That works for PCGS not sure what NGCs policy is for it.

Heck, the tax man even acknowledges that the post mark on the envelope is the day you paid such..........

Can’t you just get insurance on it though?
I remember I had a coin dealer mail me an insured coin overnight so I imagine you could do the same with yours.

    Me too!!

    OGP or bust!

I wonder if any of these sets will get broken up? Like a parent buying one for their kids and giving 1 coin to each kid. Or someone sending them in for grading and getting a 69 on one and a 70 on the other and selling the 69 to go buy a 70.

I bet some sets will get broken up and the coins might fetch a premium as a set in OGP.

But it might not be for 50-100 years.

I am not sure I would mark Proof ASE on the package. It might not make it to the delivery point...

Oh it’s ok I’m not sending it anywhere xD.

It’s staying in my safe which is bolted into the floor. I just marked it for my own purposes so I know what it is.

Their stated policy is that it must be received by the deadline, but after reflection, I have a hard time believing that. I think I'm fine with it being postmarked.

I'd think so. If not they're the only ones with that policy
