I wouldn't put it that way. I purchased it at the Buy It Now price and he sent it. He could have canceled and wouldn't hold him to it. My 1876 Indian Head I also got at 99 cents starting bid plus a couple dollars shipping accidentally listed as a Buy It Now.
Remind me to check those Buy It Now listings. Of course you got to weed through all the overpriced listings. These finds were errors though. I have got other deals where the listings or pictures were bad. Probably not a good idea to have a 1866 IHC with full "LIBERTY mixed in with a bunch of wheat pennies and provide a bad pic.
I guess the only real luck I had recently was driving a ways to a coin show only to find the most gawdawful mess of junk and graded bullion coins. I walked in to find myself one of three customers. There was one coin and only one that caught my eye -- a slabbed 1894 Morgan. Since the dealer was twiddling his thumbs I was able to cut his price considerably.
A friend of mine got this in change instead of a dime about a month ago... he got about $230 for it on ebay a couple of weeks later
