When one lives in Canada, you really get dinged on exchange rates:(
    We pay for....
    $1.35=1US$
    $i.65= 1EURO
    $1.70=1 UK Pd.
    $1.42= 1 SFRC

And those are just the exchanges before the rate is hiked up as an ancillary fee by paypal.

Being in the UK, and as a collector of world coins, I buy almost everything from overseas, and the exchange rate for the British Pound always has to be taken into account. For the last few years this has been terrible and I considered going back and concentrating on completing my British sets - as it turns out most quality British coins come up for auction outside of the UK so that didn't help either! :(

I usually use 'transferwise.com' and pay by bank transfer as this seems to be the cheapest way of doing things - took just a couple of hours for Numisor to get the payment this time.:D

A pet hate is that a few auction houses still charge a fee for accepting a bank transfer which is unbelievable with modern banking practices and they should change their bank!
