Anyone else find that they are buying more NGC coins than PCGS recently?

I agree...I do know quite a bit about Morgan's and when it comes to toners NGC is the way to go.

I am currently picking through my NGC / PCGS coins to select 20 or so to send to CAC. I don't consider myself a good coin grader by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm looking at 10 or so Indian Head Cents that I personally submitted to NGC two years ago, and on some of these I think NGC way overgraded based on pictures I am comparing my coins to of the same year and grade on HA, photograde, etc. My coins look rough and beat up and just fugly. (Keep in mind this is material I bought on an 8 years old allowance.)

I'm thinking CAC will just laugh them right out of the office. Maybe I'm wrong. Is IHC one of the series better off with PCGS?

That coin is the perfect example of one of the major difference between PCGS's and NGC's standards. Market Grading VS technical grading
That coin has the rub of a 55-58 and the luster of a 40-45. Add in a negative to neutral eye appeal and you get a market grade of a choice 45 or low end AU50.
NGC is more focused on actual meat left and assigns a much lower valuation for luster than PCGS. Not saying there isn't overlap but I will say that market expectations and CAC are more closely alined with PCGS standards for the XF40-MS62 grade range. NGC leads the way from what I have seen in so special 20th Cen designations such as FBL and eye appeal as well such as Star and PL.

...buying less PCGS? I don't know, but I only buy a couple coins per year. In my areas, generic gold and toned Morgans, I don't see much difference up to grades of about 64 or so.
65 Saints seem about the same as well. High grade Liberty head gold I think PCGS is a half point tighter. NGC seems to give more AU58 grades to rather uunattractive coins, even if meaty, while PCGS would call them AU55.

I recently submitted most of my collection to CAC. Sticking rate was about the same NGC/PCGS. A few shockers though.

It seems, for extremely high end coins, that PCGS coins will tend to garner higher prices than NGC coins, at the same grade. This would be due to (as someone mentioned) NGC's open policy on their registry. If someone were to purchase a hypothetical NGC 68 1893s Morgan, they would be able to use that coin for their NGC registry score, and then cross the coin over to PCGS (assuming the comment that NGC is tougher on Morgans holds truth) as a MS68/MS68+/MS69. Then, for the price of a NGC 68 and crossover charges, they would now own a coin that counts as MS68/MS68+/MS69 coin on both registries. I think, for that single reason, the rarest of the rare coins will continue to have more marketability in PCGS holders.

Well I just went on a tear on eBay, buying 15+ NGC coins. This will either be a great decision, or the worst decision I've made in years, check back with me in 30 days.

You have completely lost me with the above logic.

In my experience, high grade coins certified by PCGS tend to sell for more because PCGS is more strict in giving out the highest grades.

There's more of an NGC population because of how easy it is to submit them. PCGS deals directly with the dealers for their grading needs. If I needed a coin to go to PCGS, I usually have my dealer friend send it off on my behalf. In the grand scheme of things, you're more likely to come across NGC slabs than you would PCGS.
