Last year I ordered my first one. They are 2 oz silver rounds made by the Perth Mint and they depict animals native to Australia both as adults and adolescents in the form of mother & offspring. I like that they have limited mintages of 75,000 too and the 10 oz ones are much lower mintage. My first one was this Platypus one: But I also ordered this Dingo one that just released I like even more! Who DOESN’T love dogs? This is a coin I can easily see any collector liking just because dogs are man’s best friend and people love them. Here is the obverse pretty boring: Anyone else like these? Something about them is just special to me maybe it’s because it’s about mother and baby.
I do like them on first impression, though the dingo appears to be smiling, which is a little too sappy for me.
Fair point! I always thought dogs had a naturally smile-looking face myself. Like when I look at my dog now it looks like she is smiling lol
