I go on ebay binges from time to time. I can go months or years without even logging onto ebay then something triggers my addiction and I will be picking up five or ten packages a day. There was one period of time about ten years ago that I purchased every bulk lot of New York Giants football cards that I could get my hands on. I ended up with over 100,000 Giants cards all sorted, catalogued and mostly worthless, except to me. Also, a couple of years ago I binged a little on silver mint sets from 1999-2008 if I could win them for below melt.
I'm young and don't have to much cash to spend, so I might look at ebay for an hour or 2 a day to find a good deal. I normally find my best deals when people advertise badly, or just by people not knowing what they have. I love the thrill of sniping at the end of auctions, but hate to wait for shipping! Last night I got a lucky deal a person was selling a roll of nickels 30-1942, 2-1942 S, 3-1942 D, 5-1945. They didn't list silver or anything so I knew the 42 S and 45 at least had to be silver, so at least 7 silver jeffersons and possible more with the 30-1942 P for less than 5 bucks!
Thanks, and good buy yourself, who knows how high silver will go. What I really wanted though was a guy was selling uncirculated war nickels in set based on date, and some were a beautiful tone, I regret not buying them.
Picked up a roll of '65 halves today for $81 the end coins are toned so lets hope for some nice coins.
I search a little every night..trying to find decent prices on Morgans. Got some great prices on the 4th of July.
I'm addicted lately. I got interested in paper money - tons of it on there. I'll do BIN if the price seems reasonable to me. The other day, I placed 1 bid on something that had no bids at all.....and won with that 1 bid.
Only advice I would give is stick to BIN / Best Offers Anything with regular auctions I just set my maximum and if i don't get it I dont get it.. no need for a bidding war.
