After the sale I encourage anyone interested to play 'What were they thinking?' by looking at the prices realized on coins you found interesting and a few you found repulsive. Frank, unlike most sellers, posts not only what a coin sold for but what the high bidder actually bid for that lot. In most of his sales there will be a lot or two where the winner bid twice what he paid and a few where the winner was tied by a bidder whose bid tied but came later. Trying to understand why which coins sold for what they sold for may mystify but trying to figure out why someone bid $500 on a coin the next bidder saw at $100 can be a real head scratcher. See if you can find the lots that showed an ill conceived bidding war where two people both thought a piece of junk was a jewel. At least it will give you something to do while you wait for your winnings to arrive in the mail.

Also check the end of the list for unsold lots and see if you agree those lots were not worth the reserve. Obviously this can be done with any sale but I do really love the extra dimension gained by that extra number telling the full high bid.
