Anybody getting to the "Who cares?" stage with the HOF coins?

Definitely if putting in an album – if not careful, flat coins will get rubbed by the sliding window.

Ha ha ha! Commemorative Coins with a surcharge that donates to an organization whose members have million dollar salaries??

Praise to the congress folks that got this one passed but then..........who cares?

Reminds me of the fiasco which killed the initial commemorative coin programs where, just to turn a buck, folks were "dreaming" up non-existent commemoration programs and not funding anything!

Will silly coins such as these HOF Coins be the beginning of the end to the current commemorative coin program?

    Again..............who cares?

There we go! Let's see a commem for billionaires with the Koch Brothers on it! Because after all, they fuel our economy, oh wait, this isn’t China – let China issue that commem.

I was never excited about this bullion piece. Sorry, I can't call these coins. After thinking about it, I did order one Silver Proof from the mint days after the opened for sale. I think the design is clever. Without seeing all the other options, I can't comment if it was the best one.

After seeing some of the latest designs for ongoing series, I'm not impressed with those either.

I'm hoping to get my bullion piece in late June. I have no intention of flipping it so I'm not sweating when it will actually arrive.

Can I simply state that the HOF Coins make me question the purpose in collecting ANY Modern Commemorative Coins?

Yeah, but if they build it, they will come.

Why? It's no more dim in its' purpose than someone collecting plastic slabs......... devil.gif

After the Mint realizes their profit, they will just mint more (thereby decreasing demand and value) and will come up with other designs. I prophesy there will be other sports commems and then a movement to something wildly different.

well, I KNOW you like them, Ken...

But, still, I don't collect slabs, I collect what is in them.

My silver proof arrived this afternoon. I was thinking of selling it, but then I took some photos and really looked at the coin. It's beautiful IMHO! A truly awesome design and one of the best I have received direct from the Mint. This is a Keeper!

Definitely won't fit into your standard Dansco, but slabbed in a registry type set, it will look pretty cool!
This is a "different" coin, it's a first for this country and hopefully a last :) But the only thing I can really criticize is the Mints handling of them. From website glitches to prioritizing the big dogs orders, silly bags and shipping issues. That is where my complaints fall, the coin is neat.

TRV, I agree with you on the handling of these. My order was placed at 1:05 and 1/10th of my order shipped yesterday. I'll wait and judge them when I see them in hand Monday. nolanfight1.jpg

  20. I like many others am frustrated with how the mint has handled sipping of these. I may just cancel my remaining orders. I got my gold and maybe that will be it for me.

Guitar coins? Tell me more! I love guitars and coins so I might like them.

EDIT: I googled "Somalia guitar coin" and found the pictures. I like some of them but not the entire set.
