You need to meet "1970 Silver Art Bar." He's forgotten more about collecting silver art bars than most of us will ever learn. He's posted today, only a matter of time before he chimes in on a thread with this title.
Thanks I'll keep checking . I've gotten bored with eagles and such and have recently realized you can pick up the art bars at the local coin store for a buck or two over spot and many times the are worth alot more than that.I picked up a Houston one this week for 42$ and it sells on eBay for over 100.got this middlesboro for 48 but can't find any info on it
Yep. That Coca-Cola bar is hard to find. If it show up on ebay, then it will more than likely sell for more than $100 but that was based on one ebay auction (not BIN) that I have seen. That type of Coca-Cola silver art bar is hard to find and they do not show up much on ebay. There might have been some buy-it-now auctions on that particular Coca-Cola bar, but the problem with BIN's on Coca-Cola bars is that they are priced too high and they do not move when it is priced too high.
Yeah, you will get a lot more than $48 for it on ebay. Even after ebay and paypal fees, you will come out ahead. If you sell it on ebay, you should set it up as a regular auction if you want to do a quick flip on it. I also want to state for the record here is that I have never sold anything on ebay. The only reason that I have some knowledge about certain prices for certain silver art bars is that I am on ebay everyday watching the price action on certain silver art bars. There are people that I know who do this as a sideline business but the tricky part is 1.) Knowing which silver art bars will go for a certain profit margin and 2.) Finding and buying those silver art bars for .999 generic silver premium at a local coin shop or a coin show.
1970SilverArt is the guru of the art bars....I collect the cola bars only, but he's the guy to go to for info.
Thanks for the compliment but I am also still learning about silver art bars. I have been collecting silver art bars for 3 years and I consider myself to be a "student" of the silver art bar hobby and the various silver art bar guides have helped me identify a lot of the silver art bars that I run across at local coin shops, coin shows and on ebay. There were also other silver art bar collectors that helped me and I was able to pick up some information from them.
If you go to the advanced search on eBay, you can search completed items and find the actual prices paid for over 100 Coca-Cola 75th Art Bars. I will be looking to move 32 of them at some point after I have set values. If at all possible, I would prefer to move them as a set. My father-in-law worked for Coca-Cola for 40+ years retiring as a local VP. He bought them brand new and has them in his trust.
