    Description
In 2012, we commissioned the iconic Ron Landis to hand-engrave our first die. The beauty and the character of a hand-engraved die is unrivaled. The Intaglio logo has never looked better or more authentic. This is the FIRST (and LAST) time this die will be used for a commercial product.

Ron Landis' new "Luna & Her Moth" art medals are available - and I bought the set - 3 ounce, 2 ounce and 1 ounce silver medals. Interesting choice that they are all approximately the same shape and circumference, I also have the Steampunk Octopuses set of 3, and they are all different sizes and shapes. These Luna Moths are part of the Cosmic Roots series - which includes my favorite Landis design - the Buck Rogers type "Rocketship" medal. I also collect Daniel Carr medals, antique political tokens and medals, Exposition / World's Fair medals, Coronation medals and other European art medals. So many interesting pieces! Here they are with a couple of my other more recent Landis acquisitions, the Steampunk Angler Fish with Gearhead reverse and Honey Bee with honeycomb reverse (link to the actual making of same - ).

Here is a pretty cool Gallery Mint hobo nickel struck over a 1903 V Nickel.

I finally picked up a couple. Copy stamp reverse on one, obverse on the second.

Any of my closeup photos with those white prongs and no glare are self slab, but I do like the adrenaline boost these photos give . . . . . . eyebrows.gif

I use those holders to help get the white balance correct in my photos. Before I started using those self slab holder, I cannot tell you how many of my brass strikes looked green and silver strikes looked yellow. The lighting at my desk is pretty bad . . . .
