Cheryl- That is the purple $5 bill, but not the star note. The end of the serial number will have the star we are looking for. Good scan, by the way. Mike
That is my inventory number I keep on my notes....not anything with the bill. Like I said, I need to scan my notes out of their holders......
He is making a covert offer to buy DeOrc will you ban him please just for a few days lol Lets not ban Dagger he provides the comic relief
Lets not ban Dagger he provides the comic relief  I agree, Had a good laugh on that one.:high5: made by day. I am reading up on this bill right now good luck.
Well, I could go to Fort Worth, TX and pick some up. It is about 150 miles from where I live. Make some money selling they online.
I do the same thing lol i got a little sticker on alot of my notes.. the holders, not the paper... that has my internal personal 'catalog' number... for cataloging
who said anythign about buying ... in the spirit on things. i was thinking i would only have to cover postage
Catalog? The only catalog I see is the Victoria Secrets one I get in the mail......Really its not mine........lol
i have seen only a few of the new fives but i like them. have u seen what they have done to the 10, 20, and 50 dollar bills? preety cool.
i have gone through about 9 straps or so of the new 5's at work and have yet to see a star. i have to check the new ones we received today in shipment. i have seen the stars going for premiums on ebay. i just hope i can find some and get them at face value. i am sure within the next 6 months i will start to see some circulated stars. (i hope)
When the star notes come out I would love to be able to swap for a few of them. I know they will come at a premium on eBay and the banks in my area don't really circulate new bundles of bills. Reason I know this --> every couple of weeks my wife and I hit multiple banks in the area and go thru bundles of ones looking for anything we can get out of them One weekend my wife hit a bank where an older lady had turned in some ones. That weekend it cost me almost $150 to hang onto what we found -- star notes, bookends, 1 low serial number bill, pre-1999 $1 FRN notes in XF or better shape. I still haven't caught up from that weekend yet.
A note with a bookend serial would look something like A 63451263 C where the note serial starts and ends with 63. eBay has a good listing of different types of note serials that you could collect: downward ladders, upward ladder, quads (something like 44556633), trinary (00022233), binary (00001110), repeaters (65466546) and radars (65433456), birthday (09121940). I have some examples of all of the above.....guess I really need to decide what types I really want to collect and put the rest to good use.
Im familiar with the radars, repeaters, brithdays, and quads, but I guess im still not getting the bookend part
According to the BEP's monthly production figures they printed a run of the 2006 $5 Stars in November at the Fort Worth facility, all from District I (Minneapolis) They said that 3.2 million were printed but the serial numbers appear to show that only 640,000 were printed....but maybe I'm reading something wrong. The BEP's web page is: http://www.bep.treas.gov/section.cfm/2/431/624 Hope this helps. Know anyone in Deluth, or St Paul?
