Cash at the casino when I play blackjack. Don’t even take a credit card in there!

I use cash for almost all in-person transactions except for gas which is CC, never debit which is way too dangerous.

My wife uses CC for almost everything. Drives me crazy to see her using CC to buy a meal. The bill comes in 30 days after the last trace of the meal is gone. And I had to spend a lot of effort and marital capital to get her to stop using debit card transactions.

I'm reminded of Bill and George sitting at the bar and Bill tells George his wife had her credit card stolen. George asks did she report it to the police and Bill says "No way, the thief is spending less than she was."

No self-serve gas in NJ, so $20 cash has always been the go-to payment method - for almost everything else, I use a debit card to deduct $$ from my bank account.

We are with Collecting Nut, CC on gas and groceries paid in full each month. More rewards back when you pay in full. Mostly cash otherwise.

I always try to avoid using cash. Better buyer protection with credit. Just pay that plastic bill every month. I don't know where gas stations get off charging a %10 surcharge on credit transaction though.

In Michigan, they used to do the 10% BS, but not anymore.

I was under the impression for many years that it was illegal to surcharge credit card purchases.

Perhaps in some states, but not most...on the other hand, it is (or at least was) against the Visa and Mastercard T&C. It is not against their T&C to offer a (to use your example) 10% discount for cash which amounted to the same thing after retailers adjusted prices accordingly.
