I doubt this will ever happen, but if you want some fun, you should go over to the Friendly Metal Detecting Forum, where the former Detecto (now Coin_Master) regularly gets heckled and lambasted for posting useless threads as well as evidently not having a metal detector, and possibly spends all his time in a computer chair......... well, it was fun for a moment. Those guys are so friendly!. But that doesn't stop him. I think from just reading a bit, he's been on there for 3 plus years.

So...... don't get your hopes up, I'd say the advice goes in one ear and out the other, but that's being generous. I question if it even gets "heard".

Boy you guys start a lot of threads. I've been here nearly 10 years, almost 9,000 posts and I've started 5.

Detecto.....stop, look and listen. There is tons of good advice here. Pull in your reins and take a minute to read the responses to your questions and FYI there's a search engine at the top of the page so you can find a lot of informative threads.

No, there will NOT be limits on what amount of new threads a member can post. On the other hand, I do question the motives of people who seem to have plenty of time to post about what they think other people should be allowed to do on CoinTalk but can't seem to find the ignore and/or report functions of the forum. In other words, if you don't like the threads someone creates, don't read them.

No, we don't. What we need is for people to be a little more tolerant. By the same token, you have a right to your opinion and feelings just like everybody else. But there is a better way to deal with it.

    To Everybody -

Any member can start as many new threads as they want, any time they want - as long as they follow the forum rules.

For those who don't like some of these threads, there's a solution for you too. You have the choice and ability to Block anything and everything posted by any other member, if don't care to read what that person has to say. Place a Block on a member, and you'll never even see their posts.

Or, if you think a thread is out of line or violates the forum rules - report it. The moderators will look at and consider your report. We take each and every report seriously. If we agree, we'll deal with it, quickly and efficiently. If we don't agree, then nothing will happen. But that is for us to decide, not the membership.

I suppose it also worth noting that all reports are completely anonymous. Nobody but the moderators will ever even know that a report was made, let alone who made it.
