There's only a couple counties in the entire state that doesn't have coal and I'm in one of them and surrounded by the others. I only detect for a couple hours at a time, deep knee bends are getting to me...

That's too bad about the coal towns... but that said, WVA is chock full of history, early farms, early settlements, early factories!

I also live in Nebraska and do metal detecting here. I currently have a bounty hunter sharp shooter 2, and find everything from coins to jewelry.I live in the central part of the state, shoot me a PM and maybe we can get together sometime and compare notes. I'm looking at the NEW ACE 350, Which has a double d coil and elininates out more iron.It comes with head phones, bag and a digger. Kellys has it for like $300 and for another $25 you can get a good garret pinpointer. look me up!

Yeah, that awesome canvas bag and "composite" digger was the tipping point for me when I chose to buy from Kelly. Soup cans work as better headphones than the tinny headphones they sent. And the canvas bag? The local hardware store gives them away with the purchase of a box of 8-penny nails. And forget about the digger -- my 3 year old's plastic beach shovel is more effective at piercing the ground.

I guess my point is IMO it's better to compare prices among vendors based strictly on the detector, the coils, and the pinpointer.

Hobo, I don't stick the coil in the hole

I guess it does cut down the time that it takes to locate the target if it's not in the plug.
