Hamburgers and 1964 SP Kennedy Halves Um, because somewhere from 8 to 15 people can get their hamburgers and another 1 million or so hamburger-lovers are gonna go hungry?
In MS-67 $2000.00 + That is why I only have a MS-65!!! :kewl: http://www.pcgs.com/Prices/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?MS=1&PR=1&SP=1&c=125&title=Kennedy+Half+Dollar
What makes you think they moved the die presses there as early as 1963? They don't show on the Zapruder film, do they? :dead-horse:
That would depend on what grade the coin is??? there the Pcgs price guide http://www.pcgs.com/Prices/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?MS=1&PR=1&SP=1&c=125&title=Kennedy+Half+Dollar but with all coins it what the market will pay!!! A photo would help us grade it too! :kewl:
"Modern" Kennedy Half Dollars, so far, only have value in the upper grades of MS68. MS67, depending upon year, can set you back a couple of bucks and this includes the 1998D. They can be purchased already graded for a reasonable price if you shop around but the real pleasure comes from finding and submitting your own MS68 coins. This is a pleasure, of which, I have yet to experience and of course, I am referring specifically to PCGS Graded Kennedy's. Modern coins graded by NGC, for whatever reason, simply do not enjoy the retail pricing levels that modern coins graded by PCGS do. Does.
It makes a difference only if you plan to sell it. If you don't plan to sell, what difference does it make? In the meantime, I guess I'll just bask in the glory of having submitted a business strike to NGC that graded MS68. LOL! Chris
It's a 2001-D NGC MS68 Business Strike. Surprisingly, it didn't come from a Mint Set. If you recall, the Mint didn't release any for circulation until 2004, and those were released in special bags, $100 Mixed P&D. Mine was in the same bag in which I found the Mint Error missing the clad layer on the reverse. So, it was a double treat for me. Chris
The 2001 Kennedy's did have a limited circulation release. As such, sales of Rolls and Bags suffered in 2001. In late 2008, they were offered in the US Mint's first ever LAST CHANCE Sale which yielded me absolutely nothing for the 6 bags I purchased other than some delicious die cracks, interesting die clashes and some interestingly toned Kennedy's.
I thought it was 2000 which had a limited circulation? What's interesting is that since 2005, I have had more than two dozen Sac, Kennedy and SQ business strikes submitted for grading that came back MS68, and all of them came from bags. Why is it that so many people think that the only option for finding high grades is the Mint Sets? Chris
Nah. 2000 was the second to last year of full production with 22,600,000 P coins and 19,466,000 D coins released. In 2001, they produced 21,200,000 P coins and 19,504,000 D coins. Only part of the 2001 coins were released as the US Mint soon discovered the joys of selling these directly to collector's at a premium. 2002 was the first year of "collector only" production. As for you and your stinking lousy lucky MS68 find's and submissions?? Good Work! The only MS68's I've ever gotten were a couple of 1972-S IKE's, a James Monroe FDI, and most recently a 2011-D Grant Presidential coin! A-r-r-g-g-h-h!
Beautiful halves! Here is one of mine. All error coins will be hitting our website this weekend hopefully
