Sure you want to learn how to grade Jeffersons? You want to know more about this series then that is just 1 book on Jeffs. There are several out of print but sometimes available on line free library's. Wexler site as well varietyvista.com are also free references.
I have a copy of the book and there is a lot of good info in there, such as the PAK Full Step Nickel Club and the start of the full step designation, as well as a great explanation of the quarter-step method, which I think should be used more often. That said, if I want information about a particular date/mm, my “go 2” reference is THE OFFICIAL REDBOOK A GUIDE TO BUFFALO & JEFFERSON NICKELS by Q David Bowers. Still, any serious Jefferson collector should have THE JEFFERSON NICKEL ANALYST in their library.
Thanks guys for your comments. I just saw the above listed book and thought I should pick it up. Now it looks like I will also need to find D. Bowers book too.
It is a great book. When I started collecting MS and early proof Jeffersons three years ago, after being a longtime Silver coin enthusiast, I found it very helpful.
